Team Drone-Tech

The Team

We are a Team of students and alumni of the FH Joanneum – University of Applied Sciences, who have a passion for UAVs (= unmanned aerial vehicles) in general and everything concerning them.

A mix of applied research, ever-changing multirotor technology and a lot of passion are the fundament of the Team Drone-Tech of the joanneum Aeronautics. In cooperation with the Aviation Institute of the FH Joanneum, projects including software programming (e.g. for self-made flight controllers), construction and testing of UAVs (e.g. with our cooperation partner Drone Rescue Systems) and consulting with local drone manufacturers are tent-poles of the teams’ ambitions.

Additionally, the vast personal interest of the team members regarding drone technology and programming not only results in projects in cooperation with the FH Joanneum but also in the many activities of the team in their free time.

Especially when the weather starts to get warmer, the team is in their starting position to crank out their private gear, mostly FPV race quads, and use their gained knowledge to improve their own copters and even compete in a few races now and then.

Many projects are initiated by bachelor or master thesis, where the gained theoretical knowledge from the lectures as well as the practical application from the hands-on work in the team results in an excellent start into the venture.
